Mrs. Pope-Tucker and Miss Vigorito's second graders learned about pourquois tales, fictional narratives that explain why something is the way it is.  For example, a pourquois tale could explain why a snake has no legs or why a zebra has stripes.  The students then wrote their very own tales and published them using an app on the iPads, called 30 Hands.  Click here to check out their amazing work!

Ms. Bacchetta and Mrs. Jahoda's first graders learned how to write opinion essays.  Students chose their favorite seasons of the year to write about, and gave reasons as to why that season was the best one.  Click here to check out their work!

Join us to learn and play the game of chess in a fun, relaxed environment!  Students in grades K-5, at any level, are invited to join Chess Club.  Click here for more information!

mystery skype  On Wednesday, January 7, Miss Rohlander's 4th graders participated in Mystery Skype with a school from an unknown location.  Taking turns asking questions, both schools were able to narrow down the possibilities by asking questions like... "Does your state touch an ocean?"  "Is your state east of the Mississippi River?"  "Are you in the Southwest region?"  By asking questions about landforms, major interstates, and landmarks, the 4th graders were able to correctly guess that the other class was from Oklahoma.  You can check out all the action and view pictures here!
