MWES Students Participate in Mystery Skype
On Thursday, April 3, Mrs. Marcantonio's 5th graders participated in Mystery Skype with a school from an unknown location.  Taking turns asking questions, both schools were able to narrow down the possibilities by asking questions like... "Does your state touch the Atlantic Ocean?"  "Was your state one of the original 13 colonies?"  "Does your state have a professional football team?"  The 5th graders correctly guessed that the other class was from Virginia.  Then came the tricky part... determining which city the other kids were from!  The 5th graders asked questions about major interstates and landmarks to first pinpoint the region, then the county, and finally, the city.  Click here to check out all the action.

5th Graders Create Book Trailers
Mrs. Marcantonio's 5th Graders read Crash by Jerry Spinelli and liked it so much that they made PowToon videos to summarize the book and explain why others would like it too.  After watching these book trailers, you'll want to run out and grab your own copy!  Check out the book trailer below and click here to see more.
